NRIs blast Amarinder for branding them outsiders

Amritsar:The NRIs from Canada who are campaigning in favour of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab on Monday, blasted PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh for calling them outsiders and complaining to the Election Commission against them.

Joban Randhawa,Surinder Mavi and Jaskirat Mann founders of ‘Chalo Punjab’ in Canada accompanied by large number of NRIs condemned Capt Amarinder Singh for demanding to throw them out of Punjab and declared that they have constitutional right to campaign here. “We are not bothered what Amarinder says, even if we are jailed for supporting AAP”, they said.

Randhwa youth convener of AAP in Toronto said that more than 35000 NRIs would be campaigning in Punjab to liberate Punjab from the clutches of Congress and Badal family. He said that Capt Amarinder Singh was frustrated after NRIs refused to support Congress. Amarinder had visited USA and Canada to garner support of NRIs. He was not allowed to enter Toronto and Vancouver but didn’t get any response.

He said Amarinder that they own land and families in Punjab and he has no right to brand them outsiders. He said that NRIs were good as long as they funded Congress and SAD but pronounced terrorists if now supporting AAP.

He added that second batch of NRIs from UK would be landing at Amritsar airport on January 24 and they would take out a ‘road show’ same day in Majitha from where Bikram Majithia is contesting.

Surinder Mavi who is convener of AAP in Canada said that Capt Amarinder Singh was scared of NRIs and he made the complaint to Election Commission when not a single NRI came to his support. PPCC President had made a fake claim in the media that 400 NRIs were coming to join Congress campaign. If he can invite NRIs then what is the problem if NRIS are supporting AAP.
