Train with 1,000 pilgrims leaves for Patna Sahib

Bathinda:Under Mukh Mantri Tirath Darshan Yatra scheme, a special train on Monday departed for Patna Sahib carrying more than 1,000 devotees from Bathinda railway station.

The special train was carrying devotees of Bathinda, Muktsar and Mansa districts, who will return on January 6 after paying obeisance at Takht Patna Sahib on the eve of 350th Parkash Parv (birth anniversary) of Guru Gobind Singh at Patna.

Giving details about this religious tour under Mukh Mantri Tirath Darshan Yatra Scheme, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Sheena Aggarwal said that all requisite and adequate had been made to facilitate the devotees during their journey, stay and transportation etc. She said that the special train for Patna Sahib would facilitate the people of Punjab to pay obeisance at Takht Patna Sahib in Bihar on 350th Parkash Utsav of tenth master of Sikhs Guru Gobind Singh.

It may be recalled that the state had already launched a scheme ‘Chief Minister Tirath Darshan Yatra’ to undertake pilgrimage for the people of state at free of cost to Nanded Sahib (Maharashtra), Varanasi, Ajmer Sharif and Chennai.
