Manorama Devi, whom the police had taken to Bela police station last night after questioning her regarding the whereabouts of her son, is with arrested Yadav at Bela police station.

Police claimed that the pistol used in the killing of Aditya Sachdeva has also been recovered from the accused. However, Rocky Yadav denied shooting Aditya.

An intensive manhunt was launched on Sunday by the Gaya police to nab Rocky Yadav for brutally murdering 19-year-old Aditya Sachdeva who allegedly tried to overtake his SUV.

Eyewitnesses and the police said Rocky Yadav fired at Aditya in the late Saturday evening incident. Opposition leaders said that he had also beaten him up before shooting him.

After the police failed to nab Rocky, his father Bindi Yadav and bodyguard were arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody. The two were taken to Gaya central jail for interrogation.

Aditya, an Intermediate student, tried to overtake the SUV. Irked over that, Rocky and his bodyguard opened fire, killing Aditya on the spot. “My son used a licensed revolver to shoot in defence after he was forcibly stopped by the boys,” Bindi Yadav had said, defending his son, before being arrested.

Aditya’s friend, who was with him, told the police the politician’s son and his bodyguard fired at them as they tried to overtake the SUV.

Friends of Aditya — Md Nasir, Md Kaifi, Ankit Kumar and Ayush Agrawal — recorded their statements before the first-class judicial magistrate Rakesh Ranjan Singh narrating the sequence of events leading to their friend's murder by Rakesh Ranjan Yadav alias Rocky Yadav.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday slammed Opposition for making desperate attempts to politicise the death of Aditya.

Breaking his silence on the incident, Nitish said,"Nobody will be spared. Whoever is found guilty will be brought to justice." He lashed out at the Opposition saying they were trying to project the Gaya road rage case as the return of 'jungle raj' in Bihar.
