Auxiliary polling booths to come up at Pingalwara

Jalandhar: Aimed at facilitating persons with disabilities and special needs, the district administration on Monday announced to set up two auxiliary Polling Stations each at 3A Pingalwara Ghar, Gulab Devi Road and Kushat Ashram backside Devi Talab Mandir Jalandhar.

District Election Officer Kamal Kishor Yadav, revealed that the auxiliary polling stations were being set up in order to extend facility of in-house exercise of franchise to persons with disabilities and special needs. “Auxiliary polling booths would be set up at Pingalwara and Kushat Ashram, so that the inmates at these places could participate in the elections”, he said.

Yadav also said that with the set up of these auxiliary polling stations, as many as 63 voters of Pingalwara Ghar under Jalandhar Central constituency and 232 voters of Kushat Ashram falling under Jalandhar North constituency would be able to use their franchise with ease
