First Club forms human chain to create traffic awareness

Ludhiana, July 27, 2017 - Members of the Ludhiana First Club started a campaign to create awareness about traffic rules. Under the initiative, club members and Congress leaders made a human chain at the Bharat Nagar Chowk and attempted to create awareness about traffic rules.

The MLA from Ludhiana (West), Bharat Bhushan Ashu, senior Congress leader KK Bawa, Leena Taparia, besides several others participated in the awareness campaign.

Senior police officials of the city also joined the initiative. Club members distributed pamphlets and made human chain while holding placards about traffic awareness during the campaign.

Ashu and Bawa said every day several people lost their lives in road accidents. They said, “Following traffic rules is a must. The people should know rules and follow them honestly.”

“The only solution to the traffic problem is to abide by traffic rules. For this purpose, the police and social organisations should create mass awareness programmes on issues related to the traffic and road accidents,” they added.

“Children should be taught traffic rules in their schools as a part of their syllabus,” they added.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Surinder Lamba, said “Although the police is trying to solve the traffic problem, yet it is not possible without the cooperation of the public.”
