Gursharan Kaur Randhawa to contest as Independent

Patiala: Punjab Congress’s Vice-President Lal Singh who got Samana assembly constituency ticket for his son Rajinder Singh after sacrificing his own seat faced a major revolt in Samana.

Senior leader and ticket aspirant Gursharan Kaur Randhawa challenged the candidature of party candidate on Sunday and urged the high command to reconsider its decision by today or else she will enter in poll fray as an Independent.

Randhawa talking to Daily Post said that she spent her entire life along with her husband Jaswinder Singh Randhawa for serving the party.

Randhawa said that while working in Samana assembly Punjab Congress Chief, Capt Amarinder Singh and Preneet Kaur got ticket for their son Raninder Singh, and I was asked to work for him.

But now Lal Singh has used his influence to get ticket for his son who has just started campaigning in Samana segment whereas I am working here from over a decade.

She accused that Congress is under the influence of Nepotism and Imperialistic forces and there is no room left for sincere leaders.

She said that her supporters have asked her to oppose the party’s candidate and contest election as independent.

Neither Lal Singh nor his son Rajinder Singh could be contacted over the phone despite various attempts. Senior party leaders from Samana Harry Mann, Rachpal Singh Jodamajra and Kuldeep Singh Nassupur also applied for the party ticket and have shown resentment over the selection of candidate.
Preneet kaur welcomed Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra in to Congress on Saturday in Patiala.
