Rs 70 lakh looted from house of currency changer in Jagraon

Jagraon: In a broad daylight robbery, two armed men looted Rs 70 lakh from the owner of the currency exchange in Jagroan, on Sunday. The police said that the robbers carrying weapons looted Rs 40 lakh Indian currency and 30 lakh foreign currency.
Vijay Kumar, victim told police that the the miscreants intercepted his way when he was returning to his home on his two wheeler. He added that the robbers managed to flee from the spot along with a bag carrying Rs 70 lakh and his scooter also.
Kumar said that the accused looted the money on gunpoint and when he tried to resist the accused pulled gun on him.
The police said that the incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras in the house and the police have procured the footage for identification the accused involved the robbery. Meanwhile, the police have registered the case against the unidentified persons and spread the information about the incident among adjoining areas.
