SAD loses more leaders, supporters to Punjab Congress

Jalandhar: Several senior party leaders and supporters of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday joined the Punjab Congress.

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Captain Amarinder Singh welcomed the newcomers into the party, saying their joining would help strengthen the Congress hands in its fight against the fascist and corrupt forces out to further ruin the state.

Among the joinees were Rajwinder Singh Hissowal - a two-time contestant from the Raikot assembly segment and sarpanch of village Hissowal for 25 years. Gurdeep Singh Gill, ex vice president of District Bar Ludhiana and ex legal advisor of Youth Akali Dal, also extended his full support to the Congress, along with Sukhdev Singh Gill, ex president Truck Union Sudhar.

  1. The other joinees were Amrik Singh, president Cooperative Society Hissowal; Surinder Singh Gill, ex-panch Sudhar; Devinder Singh Gill, president of the Ludhiana Truck Union and Navjoth Singh Sandhu.
