First Day of the Two Day Rural Tournament Finished

Atwo-day rural sports tournament is beingorganized by the Malwa Sports and Welfare Club, Samrala has been startedyesterday at Malwa College Bondli. On the occasion Harsimrat Singh Shetra (DSP,Samrala) and Bhupinder Singh (SHO, Samrala) was present and did theinauguration. DSP Shetra encouraged the youth to take maximum part in sports tokeep themselves fit and healthy and asked them not to use drugs as it cancompletely ruin the health.


The NRI organizerswho organized these tournaments every year with the assistance of local sportsfans and players, Depu Canada and Jasdev Singh Gola confirmed that the athletictournaments will be held on the first day of the tournament and the semifinaland final matches would be held on the second day. Approximately 36 teams are takingpart in the open kabaddi competition. The first kabaddi match was inauguratedby the Jaspal Singh (Principal, Malwa College Bondli, Samrala).


Sukhwinder Findifrom Canada said, “Top attackers and defenders will be given motorcycles duringaward ceremony on the end day of the tournament. Later, a folk event will alsobe presented by Punjabi Singers.”
