Nehal Wadhera, a left-handed batsman gave a breathtaking performance at national-level tournament by BCCI

Anational-level tournament, Cooch Behar Cricket Trophy U-19 was organized by theBoard of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in which Nehal Wadhera, a left-handedmodish batsman gave a breathtaking performance and stole onlooker’s attention.He represented Punjab Colts XI in this esteemed tournament and gave aconsistent performance throughout the match. He played a major role in Punjab’sentry into the semi-final.


Inthe semi-final against Vidarbha XI, Nehal gave a stunning performance as he stayedunbowed on 51. During his tiny stay at the wicket he did four boundaries andthree sixes. The match ended in a draw, though, Vidarbha XI were confirmed championson the basis of former innings’ lead and Punjab Colts were left without a berthin the final.


NehalWadhera is a student of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar,Ludhiana and an apprentice of the regional coaching center of the Ludhiana DistrictCricket Association. He is behind his appetite since he was 8 years old and waseligible for every tournament for his age from Punjab so far. He was alsochosen for zone-specific camps simultaneously in the past two years.


Principal Paramjit Kaur while admiringNehal Wadhera said – “It was not only a matter of pride for the school, but forthe city as well that Nehal has been performing well for the last couple ofyears. Observing his devotion towards the game, we are guaranteed that he willbring more awards in the coming years as well. Even though he has been away forseveral months due to his game, we hope he gets good marks in Class XII as hedid last year in Class XI.”
